Concrete
Minor cracks and surface color variations in concrete are normal. Small cracks caused by contraction and expansion do not affect performance or durability.
Allowing water to run or pool near your foundation, patio, walks or driveways will cause soil expansion and concrete fractures. Maintain at least five feet of positive drainage away from the foundation and other concrete surfaces.
Your driveways and walkways are designed for residential use, only. Don't allow large delivery trucks or vans to use these surfaces.
Roadway deicer residue on the undercarriage of your car can spall your driveway, eventually causing it to chip and pit. To protect your concrete, remove snow and ice as soon as possible and wash down the concrete. Never use salt or deicers. Instead, use clean sand or cat litter for traction on driveways and walkways.
